More of the Same?
With Demoncrat Nancy Pelosi scheduled to become the Speaker of the House what is she going to say? We've already heard her say that Venezuela's democratically elected president is a "thug".
"Hugo Chavez fancies himself a modern day Simon Bolivar but all he is an everyday thug," House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said at a news conference, referring to Chavez' comments in a U.N. General Assembly speech on Wednesday.
"Hugo Chavez abused the privilege that he had, speaking at the United Nations," said Pelosi, a frequent Bush critic. "He demeaned himself and he demeaned Venezuela."
So what is happening here? Is it O.K. for Pelosi to say Bush is "incompetent" but not O.K. for the leader of a foreign country to say anything about Bush?
Will Pelosi be just another purple politician who thinks that the only good democracy is one that has been approved by the U.S. - One that doesn't open up their mouth and call it like they see it?
Red, Blue, they're all the same.

She is totally in the Clinton model, "say what you think people want to hear". Reminds me of our governor. But hey,Ecuador doesnt seem to kow tow to what is deemed "acceptable" discourse! They just made a statement but their votes that they like what Chavez had to say.
